Jackson went to high school at Boynton Beach High School in Boynto Beach, Florida.In two years at Boynton Beach, Jackson threw for 2,263 yards and 31 touchdowns with 9 interceptions. Additionally, he ran for 1,624 yards and 22 touchdowns, and had a quarterback rating of 102.7. He also competed for his high school track team, posting a personal record of 11.45 seconds in the 100 meter dash in one track meet.

After being heavily recruited out of high school by a number of Power Five schools, Jackson ultimately decided to play college football at the University of Louisville.

Lamar Jackson made his NFL debut in the Ravens’ 2018 season opener, after starting quarterback Joe Flacco was substituted because the Ravens were blowing their opponent out.During Week 7 of that 2018 season, Jackson scored his first NFL touchdown on a 1-yard run. In week 8, Jackson threw his first NFL touchdown pass, a 26-yard completion.

Jackson made his first NFL start on November 18, 2018, after Joe Flacco got injured two weeks prior. Jackson never gave the starting job back. Overall, he finished the season with 1,201 passing yards, 6 passing touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. In addition, he led all quarterbacks with 695 rushing yards and added 5 rushing touchdowns. Ultimately, Jackson led the Ravens to the Wild Card round of the playoffs, where they lost to the San Diego Chargers — despite Jackson having a good game.

Jackson began the 2019 NFL season as the Ravens’ unquestioned starting quarterback. In the season-opener, he became the youngest quarterback ever to achieve a perfect passer rating. The next week, he became the first player in NFL history to pass for more than 250 yards and rush for 120 yards in one game.
